Hinton Compatriots - Additional masters now ready for the Austrians in helmets

The final two poses for the Austrian Napoleonic in Helmets - Advancing (German Troops)are now completed.
These are the alternate Officer and the alternate Pioneer. This will make a total of eight figures for this (German) series.
The equivalent eight figures for the Hungarian types will be ready next week - then they all go to the caster. I will have final pricing and availability a few days after that.
I am getting excited. I am also planning on mounted officers next to make it possible to build complete German and Hungarian infantry units in helmets (Advancing).

  3. Hi Ron, ok thanks, apologies for the typos but it was late at night.
British infantry in stovepike, French pre-1812 infantry and Russian musketeers would suit me very well.
I have small British, French, Austrian and Russian Hinton Hunt armies with Minifigs s-range, Phoenix, SHQ and a few others mixed in.
To be honest, everything/anything would suit if they are all up to this quality.
    Thanks for doing this.

  5. Two comments to think about.

Firstly, NapoleoN Miniatures tried the old Les Higgins range and their shop and gallery have been offline since May. I withdrew the Garrison 20mm Napoleonics through lack of sales on a price of 60p. So I'm wishing you luck but be prepared for low sales.

Next, people do order strange quantities. You may suddenly get an order for 100 officers or standard bearers as someone realises they can upgrade all the regiments in their army. Separate command groups have major advantages if you can afford the luxury of separate moulds. Alternatively, a heavier loading of command figures on the mould is worth thinking about.

  6. Thanks for the advice Rob - I respect your input very much.

First though let me say - I am prepared for no sales even - As I have stated elsewhere these figures are primarily for my use. I am not in it for the business - I am retired and I do not need those hassles.

I am just offering the figures around for anyone that wants to buy some. I will certainly not have huge stocks and I will only make what is ordered plus a few.

As for price - sorry but these are very limited production - I didn't buy ready made moulds I commissioned the masters from a quality sculptor who charges for his work - the figures are superb.

I have also paid for all the moulds to be made. This is a considerable outlay. So the price reflects these costs.

I also have to ship to me here in Canada from the UK which also adds to the costs. I may try and get somebody over there to help with this - but with low sales it may not be worth it.

If I recover just part of my outlay that is sufficient for me. In fact I have enough orders to cover about 25% of my initial outlay which is quite acceptable.

Of course even at the price I have quoted I sell them at a loss if one considers the initial investment as opposed to just the production costs - that is until I have sold sufficient to cover that outlay.

Yes I actually have a separate mould for the command - so for each series of 8 figures there are two moulds.

LOL - I have already got an order for 10 each of the Pioneers - so I know what you mean about lop sided orders.

Anyway I will plod on mainly for my own needs and apologize if that doesn't quite suite the normal business model.

    Regards Ron
